The earthy layers of red, gray, and brown stretch seem to continue for miles. While possibly a colored photo of Mars, this photo was captured at the Vulcan Rock Quarry.
2018: The time for growth, change, laughter, tears, and love. The ending to the beginning of a new year— new experiences and new people will come in 2018. It's time for change, but good change. This year will bring firsts and lasts: my first high school prom; the start of my last year of high school. I feel anxious, unable to predict the future and nervous for the change that is already taking place. I can't think about it too much, I just have to take it one day at a time. Today is day 16 out of 365, so today I will do all that I can to make tomorrow better.
I think film photography lets a person truly be in the moment and capture it. When I snap a photo and look at the image four weeks later (or whenever it gets developed), I am able to transport myself into the moment and experience the same feelings. For the roll of film in my camera right now, I have six shots left and can already tell that it's going to be my favorite set of photos. There are photos of a beautiful sunset, photos from when my best friend came to Georgia, photos of a sweet boy, and photos from moments that I can't remember but will soon.
